Job Details

Finegreen have been asked to help a large CCG recruit an interim Senior Commissioning specialist to cover maternity leave.  This Commissioning lead will play a lead role in the strategic development across the integrated local health system to deliver, monitor and manage all aspects of contract and commissioning performance and to provide leadership across the maternity portfolio.
 
Main Responsibilities:
  • Commission and improve effectiveness of commissioning;
  • Deliver commissioning interventions as identified by the CCG and any other partners including Local Authority;
  • Work with Health colleagues to manage the delivery of interventions and activities designed to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities;
  • Lead on the maternity portfolio, with overall responsibility for strategy, commissioning and delivery;
  • Manage contracts and performance:
  • Lead Projects and Programmes of work and deliver the required outcomes:
  • Carry out any specific data analysis and synthesis or information gathering projects requested by the Workstream;
  • Collate and analyse relevant demographic information, service trends, user consultation and feedback;
  • Research about effective children and maternity services to ensure that assessments of need, service development and planning are based on good practice and evidence.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant responsibilities of delivering and /or commissioning Health and Care within a Local system context, or equivalent experience;
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of all aspects of the commissioning process;
  • A high level of understanding of how contractual incentives and penalties can be used to influence the behaviour of providers and to deliver desired outcomes;
  • An appreciation of the wider health and social care system;
  • Specialist knowledge relevant to Maternity/ the work of the Portfolio area;
  • High degree of verbal and written communication skills;
  • A proven ability to work in partnership across boundaries to influence senior managers and other key stakeholders;
  • Programme and project management skills, alongside an understanding of budget management
  • Proven track record in taking initiative and leading on work autonomously, and through teams.
