As a Trust, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust (FHFT) has much to be proud of.  Ours is a story of consistently strong performance and ongoing improvement.  As one of the first NHS trusts to be awarded Foundation Trust status in 2005, Frimley Park Hospital has a history of providing excellent services to the population it serves; and in 2014 the Frimley Park site was rated as 'outstanding' by CQC - the first hospital to be given this grading by the regulator.  On the 1st October 2014 the Trust became Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust and we are proud of the journey of rapid improvement undertaken post acquisition – in 2016 CQC described the “remarkable” improvement in care at Wexham Park Hospital as the “most impressive” turnaround it has seen since the start of its inspection regime in 2013.  More recently, our latest inspection by CQC (the Trust’s first full inspection post acquisition) gave us yet more to be proud of as it reflected many examples of good and outstanding care and provided the us with an overall ‘good’ rating.

Today, as a well performing, well led and ambitious Foundation Trust, we have exciting times ahead of us.  We have an ongoing commitment to improving the health and care services for the 900,000 people we serve across Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and south Buckinghamshire.  We are proud of the strong links we have to our communities, our engaged and caring workforce (comprising over 8,500 people) and our reputation for delivering effective, safe care.  Certainly, this is a time to reflect and recognise our many outstanding achievements.  But it is also the time to look to the future.

The financial and demand challenges mean that the NHS is not sustainable in the way it has operated for over 70 years. We in Frimley Health must change at pace in this era of empowered patients, chronic health conditions and new technologies to continue to provide excellence in care in the future. There are opportunities to drive synergies and efficiencies across our diverse, multi-site organisation and we are committed to transforming our models of care to achieve them.   We are in the process of renewing our strategy for the future and our emerging vision is to be a leader in health & wellbeing, delivering excellence for our communities.  Significant programmes of investment, such as a £49m major new Emergency Assessment Centre on our Wexham Park site, plans for a brand new £98m state of the art hospital to replace the existing hospital facility at Heatherwood in Ascot and significant investment in our quality improvement and digital programmes, support our vision and will ensure that we achieve our aim of providing the highest quality healthcare to our patients.

We have evaluated the skill sets we will need at a very senior level to take the Trust forward successfully in an extremely challenging environment whilst maintaining its standards of excellence and created two new posts.  We know that the ambitions we have for the Trust can only be realised if we invest in the development of an ambitious, innovative and engaged leadership team; and we are now seeking to appoint a Chief Operating Officer and a Director of Transformation, Innovation and Digital Services to join our Executive team.

For the Chief Operating Officer, we’re seeking an inspirational individual who can work with our staff and clinical leaders to transform our models of care to ensure we deliver excellence for our patients in the future. This role will provide great development and career progression for a strategic and innovative thinker, and an ambitious individual with high potential, who can foster collaboration within the Trust and with partners to drive forward our plans.
