Planning & Costing Accountant

The Finegreen Group is working in partnership with an NHS Trust based in the West Midlands that requires an interim Planning and Costing Accountant for a minimum three month assignment. The Trust would like an ambitious individual to join their Finance team, to lead in the development of Patient Level Costing and Service Line Reporting within the Trust. They are currently implementing Civica CTP to comply with the mandatory PLICS Reference Cost submission for 2018/19.

Key responsibilities will include; 
  • Leading on the National Reference Cost submission;
  • Actively managing and contributing to the provision of timely and accurate Patient Level Income and Costing Information;
  • Ensuring that Divisional Finance Teams are fully engaged with PLICS/SLR with Divisions understanding and owning their costed activity;
  • Proactively contributing to the communication of SLR/PLICS information and to liaise with Divisional and Service Line Teams to enhance understanding and to help with clinical and management engagement;
  • Developing reporting systems for the delivery of complex service line reporting and patient level costing information to the Divisions on a monthly basis in a concise and accessible format;
  • Responsibility for keeping the Trust’s LTFM up to date and preparing annual planning information in line with NHS Improvement guidelines.
Key experience & skills will include;
  • CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant;
  • Previous NHS / healthcare sector experience;
  • Solid costing experience and a keen interest in making PLICS/SLR accessible to clinicians and managers;
  • Excellent communication skills.
