Job Details
The role is based in East of England area and is an interim post working on a band 7.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage systems for the communication of Serious Incident information, including updating the Strategic Executive Information System (STEIS);
- Use of Datix Incident Reporting System;
- Develop and manage systems for the tracking of incident investigations and Duty
- Candour cases, producing exception reports for Patient Safety & Complaints Lead;
- Deal with the day to day challenges of maintaining an efficient and effective Patient
- Safety Service supporting clinical and non-clinical teams;
- Review Datix Incident Reports and escalate any incident reports of concern;
- Up-to-date relevant training and e-learning (e.g. Datix Incident Reporting and
- Investigation e-learning package);
- Provide training on patient safety issues, clinical risk and incident reporting and
- Investigations;
- Maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues
- in relation to both the specific client group and mental health;
- Ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest standard;
- Responsible for ensuring that any data created by them is timely, comprehensive, accurate, and fit for the purposes for which it is intended.
- Must have worked within the NHS and around patient safety;
- Experience of dealing with sensitive and confidential information;
- Reporting and reviewing incidents on Datix;
- Writing reports and other papers;
- Experience of clinical risk assessment and management;
- Demonstrated experience in a health care environment;
- Clear communicator with excellent written and verbal skills;
- Work under pressure in a busy working open plan environment and be able to multi-task;
- Prioritise workload and manage time effectively, in order to meet tight deadlines;
- Good IT skills with ability to use range;
- Ability to maintain effective relationships and develop networks to ensure effective Patient Safety;
- Knowledge of incident reporting systems and clinical risk.
