Job Details
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead on Safeguarding Children Policy and Service Development related, support the development of adult safeguarding also to ensure a joined up approach to areas of safeguarding that cross both the adult and children’s agenda;
- Manage and provide advanced knowledge regarding safeguarding practice, undertake and coordinate related Serious Case Reviews including making recommendations for improvement;
- Promote a culture of working in partnership with children, young people and their families making sure the wishes and feelings of children and young people are heard and taken into account when planning and delivering their care;
- Ensure the appropriate sharing of information between agencies, especially in relation to children at risk of significant harm and families assessed to have complex safeguarding needs;
- Contribute to the child death review process by being a member of the Child Death Overview Panel;
- Work closely with Designated Professionals to ensure mechanisms are in place to enable effective communication across the whole health economy and with partner agencies.
- Current registration with the NMC, additionally School Nurse or Health Visitor qualification;
- In-depth knowledge of national and local Safeguarding policies and legislative framework, including current drivers;
- 3 years minimum working as a Named Nurse/Designated Nurse for safeguarding children;
- The ability to provide Safeguarding and clinical supervision to individuals and groups.
