Job Title: Operational Capital Project Manager
Brief description of role:
The post holder will be a key member of the estates and facilities management team; with responsibility for ensuring that those operational capital projects allocated to them are designed in accordance with statutory requirements, regulations and guidance; and delivered in accordance with the agreed programme.
The post holder will be responsible for effective internal and external communication and the role will be for an initial 6 month contract offering £250 - £300 per day
Essential skills:
- Able to demonstrate expert knowledge of all aspects of design, including basic electrical and engineering design.
- Detailed knowledge of statutory requirements in relation to design and construction
- Detailed knowledge of HTM/HBN requirements in relation to design and construction.
- Excellent knowledge of IT systems, including specialist design systems (i.e. CAD)
- Detailed knowledge of building regulations and planning law.
- Post qualification experience as a project manager with design responsibility within an estates and facilities department
- Experience of managing operational capital projects and programmes
Qualifications or IT skills required:
- Degree in building surveying, or related subject; and substantial experience as a project manager delivering operational capital schemes
- Experience in risk management
- Experience of working across departments and organisational boundaries
- Member of an appropriate Professional Organisation (RICS, MCIOB, CIBSE)
