Are you an experienced, inspirational and future-focused Health or Social Care leader?

We are looking for an Interim Chief Executive to provide exceptional leadership and direction for our Department of Health and Social Care on the Isle of Man.

The Department is currently undergoing a period of transformation and we’re looking for someone who can provide clear and visible leadership whilst the transformation takes place.

What could this role offer you?

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a broad and varied role. The Department (DHSC) provides a complex range of vital services to the islands’ residents including:

· General practitioner and dental services

· Community healthcare

· Hospital healthcare

· Mental healthcare

· Social services for adults and for children and families

· Specialist off-Island care

As a single organisation, the DHSC is responsible for setting policy, funding care, directly delivering services, and commissioning other providers.

The DHSC is an ambitious Department and our 5 Years - 5 Goals Strategy reflects this. In this role you will not only have the opportunity to lead both cultural and clinical improvements within the Department, you will be have a strong lead on cross-government issues, working as part of the Isle of Man Government’s Chief Officer Group.

Who are we looking for?

Excellent leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills will be vital to enable you to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in order to successfully lead the Department and provide support for the Minister and Members.

We want to continue to develop a patient and service-user focused culture, where all of our staff feel listened to, supported, valued, and where they feel empowered to be involved.  We are looking for someone with experience as a visible and inspirational senior leader in a complex organisation, within the health or social care sector, to provide direction, inspire our staff and help drive the Department forward and enable us to achieve our ambitions.

To succeed in this role, you will need experience of operating at a strategic level, leading teams and managing people from a range of different disciplines and have a detailed understanding of the health and care landscape.

Relocation

Interview expenses and a relocation package of up to £10,000 based on receipts is available for this role.

The Isle of Man is offering a National Insurance Holiday Scheme which allows newly employed, relocated or returning residents to apply for a refund on their National Insurance contributions for their first year of living or returning to the Isle of Man, with refunds capped at £4,000.
