Job Type

We are looking for an inspirational and dynamic leader to join our Board of Directors as Chief Operating Officer.  This new role is a great opportunity for the right individual to lead a complex range of services during a time of change, opportunity and ambition for Nottinghamshire Healthcare.

Our services span a broad range of mental health, intellectual disability and community physical health provision across low, medium and high secure services, including Rampton Hospital to a population of over a million people across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. This broad mix of services makes this role challenging yet also offers great opportunities, particularly in the changing health and social care landscape.

At Nottinghamshire Healthcare, people are central to everything we do, and we recognise that our staff are our most important asset. We are very proud of the quality of our services and the compassionate care provided by our staff.

Coupled with our unique settings and a newly appointed Chief Executive, it’s an exciting time to join our Trust. We are looking for an inclusive, compassionate and caring Chief Operating Officer with proven ability to lead a complex range of services, build effective partnerships and work well as part of a team. You will have the ability to work strategically and at the same time use your judgement to be focused on the right detail when it is required.

This role would suit someone who is already an established executive level leader with an excellent track record in operational management, keen to work in a successful, innovative organisation. Equally we would welcome applications from leaders who aspire to work at executive level in their next role. The role would suit potential candidates already working in the NHS provider, commissioning or Arm’s Length Body setting, but we are also keen to see applications from aligned sectors, such as Local Government, third sector and non-NHS/care services.

Our new Chief Operating Officer will be an inspirational, influential leader who cares about people and who can demonstrate appropriate experience of operational delivery and transformation, alignment to our values, experience of leading teams of similar scale, complexity and challenge at the highest level, as well as possessing the ability to set direction, and create and deliver strategy and deal with complex change.

For a suitably committed and innovative individual, this role presents a great opportunity to work in partnership across boundaries and inspire teams to deliver the best possible care for all our patients. If you believe you have the skills to succeed in this role, we would welcome your application.
