A high profile NHS organisation is seeking to appoint an Interim General Manager for Womens Services for a 3 month period in the first instance.
This is a key role with the organization and experience in a senior operational management role within the NHS is essential preferably within Womens Services.
This role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8c.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide visible operational leadership to Clinical Specialty and promote continual improvement in quality, performance and delivery of Trust objectives;
  • Lead the establishment of accountability structures within Clinical Specialty ensuring that responsibility is delegated appropriately so that decisions can be taken as close to service provision as possible;
  • Manage, lead and motivate staff within Clinical Specialty to deliver and improve services so meeting the needs of patients;
  • Line management of administrative staff within Clinical Specialty, either directly or through delegated responsibility;
  • Develop the business and planning processes throughout Clinical Specialty to deliver services to required standards and within the available resource base;
  • Establish and develop processes in collaboration with other Operations Leads for the entire Division to jointly manage the business, delivery and development of services;
  • Work collaboratively with the HRBP to ensure effective workforce planning that meets the needs of both current and future service developments and to ensure that all staff receive appropriate education and training opportunities which supports the workforce strategy and therefore, the strategic aims of the Trust.

A Successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience of working in a management/leadership role;
  • Experience of managing , leading and motivating a team;
  • Proven experience leading service changes to improve performance;
  • Track record of leading projects;
  • Knowledge and previous responsibility for a budget and budget setting;
  • Identifying and interpreting national policy and implementing required changes;
  • Business case development and annual planning, longer term planning.
