Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) is one of the largest mental health Trusts in the country. The past few years have been challenging for the Trust, re-entering Special Measures in 2017. Over the past year, we have done much to start delivering the improvements needed, including building a new board, led by Chair Marie Gabriel CBE and Chief Executive Professor Jonathan Warren. Our vision is to be in the top quarter of mental health Trusts for quality and patient safety by 2023.

To support us realise our vision by strengthening collaboration and integration with NHS and non-NHS partners, we have created the new role of Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships on our board. The post holder will be a full voting member and play a key role in building strategic relationships – locally, regionally and nationally – and developing strategies and innovative approaches that will help our organisation and wider system to transform to create a more sustainable future for the services we provide to some of the most vulnerable people in society.

We are seeking an experienced director with deep knowledge of healthcare and a track record of delivering transformational change programmes across organisational boundaries. In addition, you will have:

  • excellent relationship management skills and political acumen
  • experience of creating collaborations of strategic importance
  • experience of writing corporate strategy and overseeing its delivery
  • experience of business development, including production of complex business cases
  • passion for ensuring meaningful involvement of service users and carers in the development of strategy
