Single Accountable Officer for the Black Country and West Birmingham

The CCGs in the Black Country and West Birmingham are seeking an exceptional leader to serve as single Accountable Officer for all four CCGs and deliver a vision for a single commissioning voice across the Black Country by 2021.

You will bring drive, energy and commitment to improving health and for our diverse communities. You will have a track record of driving system change successfully in large, complex environments. And you will already be working in a senior role, probably in the health service.

Our four CCGs – Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Sandwell and West Birmingham – cover a population of 1.2 million and have a combined budget of £2.25bn. They are already high performing organisations with strong clinical leadership and you will be expected to maintain and build on our reputation for outstanding healthcare.

You will also play a senior leadership role in mobilising the Black Country and West Birmingham Integrated Care System and will be able to work effectively with our partners in the Black Country and West Birmingham and our neighbouring health systems.

Once the engine room of the UK economy, the Black Country has a long history of innovation and collaboration that now encompasses our health and care sector. Being part of that history is important to all of us who live and work here. We want to recruit an Accountable Officer who: shares our communities’ pride in, and passion for, the Black Country; knows they can add value; will listen as well as lead, and will work successfully in partnership with our communities, colleagues, clinicians and stakeholders.

If this is you, contact us now for an informal conversation or find out more in our recruitment brochure (link below)

Applications are by CV and covering letter to Alice McGee, Director of HR and OD using form below.

The closing date for applications is 9am Monday 9 September 2019. An assessment centre for shortlisted candidates will take place on Wednesday 25 September 2019.
