Have you just completed a degree, preferably in a scientific subject? 5 brand new roles have arisen with a Pharmaceutical company in Worthing, West Sussex, giving you the perfect opportunity to gain experience within a GMP-regulated commercial environment straight after finishing uni.

It can be so hard for a new graduate to get a "foot in the door" with a Pharmaceutical organisation. This experience will look excellent on your CV as you will get the chance to work for 5 months in a Labelling & Packaging area, following strict Pharma guidelines for the processing of patient-named doses of vaccines. Whether you progress your career in Production, QA, Development, Regulatory Affairs or other areas of the industry, this experience will give you the perfect start.

This is a temporary role from mid/end of August 2019 until end of February 2020, due to the company going through a very busy period. Because of the workload, candidates cannot be considered if they have excessive holiday booked during this 5-month period. You will work 7am-3pm, apart from in August, September and October (exact dates TBC) when you will be required to work 7am-4.30pm.

Interviews will be conducted ASAP and if successful you will start in mid/end of August depending on the induction/training days of the company.

The Company

A pioneering Worthing-based Pharmaceutical company who manufacture and distribute life-changing drugs to patients across Europe and other territories around the world. They specialise in making vaccines for people who suffer from debilitating conditions and they have an excellent reputation as a local employer. The company is well known its positive and supportive working environment.

The Role

Working in a busy team, in which you will always collaborate in pairs, you will be responsible for processing individual patient orders, packaging individual vials of vaccines, ensuring the correct labels and codes are allocated and that the orders are prepared for dispatch and international delivery. You will conduct visual inspections of vials and syringes, check codes for correctness and highlight any potential issues so the Quality team can conduct investigations. Using your attention to detail to the full, you will ensure that all drug packets are packaged correctly, with the right labels as per a colour coding system. It is essential that you show strong attention to detail at all times.

The environment is controlled by strict GMP regulations, so you will have to wear overalls, hair net and shoe covers. Make-up and jewellery will not be permitted in the clean room, as is standard within any Pharmaceutical production or laboratory environment.

You will be paid GBP8.50 per hour (the equivalent of a GBP16,500 salary) and will be treated like an employee, not a temp. You will work in a friendly team in a pleasant, modern clean room. The company offers kitchen facilities and free parking.

Experience

We are looking for life sciences graduates who will be able to start work in Worthing mid/end of August 2019. You must be determined to gain experience in the Pharmaceutical industry and must be able to show excellent attention to detail and an appreciation for the very high standards that have to be met within a regulated commercial environment. Above all else, we want someone who works hard at all times, who offers excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), good literacy and numeracy, patience, an honest and likeable manner and strong attention to detail.

Please note that colourblind candidates cannot be considered due to the colour-coding system used when you check and label the vials of vaccine.

Candidates will regrettably not be considered if they have booked excessive holiday during the period of August 2019 - February 2020. Occasional days off will be permitted, but not several days in one block
