ResourceBank are supporting Interim Partners who are currently engaged by a large district general hospital in the East Midlands who are looking to bring in an experienced NHS Human Resource Business Partner.

The contract will initially be for a 12-week period and the successful applicant will be responsible for a comprehensive professional and high-quality HR service to their nominated division within the management structure, for all employees, including medical staff.  An important role of the HR Business Partner will be to support the senior managers in developing the people capability to deliver their business plan. The HR Business Partner will also be tasked with coaching and developing line managers to effectively fulfil their people responsibilities.  As a senior HR professional, the HR Business Partner is expected to be largely self-managing.

The focus of the role will be to support and manage a small team of HR advisors, provide professional HR advice and work closely with clinicians whilst managing investigations.

Main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Provide professional HR advice to managers across the full range of employee relations issues including grievance, discipline, capability, absence, performance management, redeployment, harassment and bullying, in line with best practice, Trust policy and employment legislation
  • Act as the HR lead for the management of organisational change within a nominated division/directorates including advice on TUPE related issues
  • To undertake complex investigations in relation to all aspects of employment practices
  • Advise on pay and grading issues including grading assessments and job evaluation
  • Manage caseload of employee relations issues.  Advise managers on complex HR issues, including preparation for and presentation of appeals and Employment Tribunals
  • Implement the Trust’s absence management policy, train line managers and monitor absence and sickness within area

Extensive and recent acute NHS experience is essential!
