This is a senior public health position for a suitably qualified individual seeking an exciting position and the challenge of leading the transformation of health and wellbeing in the London Borough of Havering.

Havering is a vibrant and exciting place to live and work. The third largest London Borough, Havering is a collection of distinct communities with their own history and character, set in large areas of green belt and with excellent transport links into the centre of London, Essex and beyond.

Working in close partnership with internal and external stakeholders you will use your public health skills to tackle health inequalities and contribute to the delivery of the council’s objectives. You will have the opportunity to innovate and develop novel programmes of work tailored to the needs of local residents.

Partnership working is at the heart of all we do particularly with regard to the integration of health and social care services.  With public health colleagues in adjacent boroughs, you will contribute to the development of the Barking, Havering and Redbridge Integrated Care System.

You will have the opportunity to build on existing interests - academic links and involvement in the public health training scheme are encouraged.

Candidates must be included on the GMC Specialist Register in Public Health, or UK Public Health Register.

The successful candidate will be appointed to the point of the salary scale appropriate to their experience and any existing continuity of service.

This is a permanent post. Full time hours are 36 per week. Part time and flexible working will be considered.
