Job Details

My client is small charity who provide social and healthcare advice and support to members across the UK as well as internationally.

My client's helpline is responsible for giving support, signposting enquiries, taking referrals, making risk assessment and distributing information to assist people going through a tough time or crisis. It is vital that people receive an appropriate level of assessment to ensure they are referred to the right service and that any risks are properly assessed and managed by the team.

My client is looking for someone to support the small helpline team through a time of change. You will need experience of working in a supportive role with people experiencing challenging life events - social, healthcare or both. They also need someone used to working in a telephone / helpline environment. Therefore, somebody with experience in counselling or similar with the necessary training is needed.

Given the nature of the assignment you will need a strong awareness of dealing with risk and issues surrounding safeguarding and therefore know what good practice looks like and ensure it is always being implemented. What would be ideal is a relevant professional qualification such as DipSW or Diploma in Counselling combined with the specific experience of managing a small helpline team.

The assignment will run for 3 to 6 months, with an immediate star required. The daily rate is between £200 and £220pd - outside IR35. If you have the required skills, please contact Andrew Vaux on 01491 577122.
