An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for a Healthcare organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Practice Manager. This is a crucial role for the organisation and underpins the organisation’s administrative functions.

The role will be for 3 months initially though could extend and would be remunerated comparatively at Band 6/Band 7 under AfC/NHSI Agency Caps.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide a comprehensive and adhesive administrative point of contact between Consultants and their patients;
  • Basic administration duties: filing, collecting mail, photocopying, organising transport, typing correspondence, stock control;
  • Responsible for telephone management – the taking of calls, returning of calls and picking up messages left in a timely manner;
  • Make follow-up bookings and appointments in conjunction with the consultant timetables and liaising efficiently with other disciplines within the organisation and externally;
  • Ensure, if required that accurate bills are raised, and comprehensive records kept.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Basic medical terminology
  • Customer care
  • Audio typing – average speed 40wpm
  • Intermediate level Word for Windows
  • The ability to/experience of communication with consultants, managers, staff, patients and general public;
  • Experience of liaising with hospital departments to organise consultant sessions, patient procedures;
  • Understand and can demonstrate experience of patient confidentiality.
