A large healthcare organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Commissioning Professional, who specialises in Urgent Care Commissioning. 

Main Responsibilities:
  • As Urgent Care Lead, you will work as part of a wider team to monitor and support improvement in the performance and quality of commissioned services across the local health economy;
  • Focus will be supporting and improving the quality and performance of Urgent care services across the locality;
  • Take a lead role on some provider contracts and will build and maintain strong relationships with local providers, other commissioners and support agencies;
  • A significant focus of the role will be supporting the Urgent and Emergency Care board and leading the system wide urgent care plan which focus on improving urgent care systems across the locality;
  • Planning and leading the CCG response to system escalation and regional and national recommendations and communicating with all levels within organisations from patients and staff experience to executive level negotiation;
  • Utilise highly specialised knowledge from a wide range of subject matter and expertise relevant to the projects and technical (commissioning, programme/performance management and quality improvement) skills to ensure delivery of elements of the CCG strategic plan;
  • Skilled in health service management, performance management, change management and project management for improvement within health care settings;
A successful candidate will have:
  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas (urgent care services and systems), acquired through post graduate diploma, equivalent training or experience, plus further specialist knowledge in a range of health care settings;
  • Experience in negotiating on difficult and controversial issues including performance and change;
  • Used to working in a busy environment - Adaptability, flexibility and ability to cope with uncertainty and change.
