We are very pleased to be recruiting to 2 Full Time Consultant Psychiatrist posts to our Adult Community Team within the Great Yarmouth and Waveney Locality, part of Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. These posts cover the Community Mental Health Team and are based at Northgate Hospital in Great Yarmouth. The team works closely with colleagues in our Adult Acute and Older People’s Services.

Our community team is a well-established multi-disciplinary team working to a recovery focused model of care. Great Yarmouth and Waveney Locality has been at the forefront of implementing our Trust’s Recovery College and we are in the process of developing a day treatment service to support the team’s pathway. As a senior clinician, you will have an integral role in the performance of the team, further development of the service, and the development of the clinical pathways.

This role would be ideal for an established Consultant Psychiatrist, however we would also welcome applications from newly qualified individuals. The successful applicant would be joining an enthusiastic team of Adult Psychiatrists who are welcoming and supportive. There are trainees on regular rotation. The successful applicant would be encouraged and supported to take on appropriate supervision of junior colleagues.

An aptitude to work collaboratively and respectfully in a multi-disciplinary team is essential.

The trust has a strong educational reputation with excellent opportunities for teaching and research. There are close ties to both the University of Cambridge and University of East Anglia. There is a very active teaching programme for medical students from the University of Cambridge. In addition research is strongly encouraged and there is a well-established research network within the trust.

The successful applicant would take part in the Great Yarmouth and Waveney Locality on-call rota, currently approximately 1 in 11.
