Job Details
This is a key role within the organization and experience in a senior operational management role within the NHS is essential.
This role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8d.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and prioritising the effective and efficient delivery of highly complex clinical services across the Care Group and the management of operational business on a day-to-day basis, meeting all necessary standards of safety, quality and patient access within agreed resources.
- Providing clear guidance and support to the Care Group under the direction of the Trust’s Chief Operating Officer, within a clear and effective accountability framework, in order to deliver the annual Operational Plan.
- Identifying and implementing innovative solutions to address key Care Group issues, including workforce risks in hard-to-recruit areas, use of Agency staff. Leads on delivery of actions that realise benefits for the Cost Improvement Programme and long-term efficiency and productivity.
- Contributing to the performance assurance and reporting framework with the Care Group Triumvirate and responsible for business continuity and emergency preparedness across the Care Group, in close partnership with other Care Groups and support services.
- Working with commissioners and other system partners to optimise patient flow, maintain patient safety and service resilience, and align emergency plans.
- Promoting, delivering and leading the implementation of the Trust’s new approach to Quality Improvement
- Take a lead role in system development and transformation.
- Master’s degree or equivalent training and experience
- Extensive knowledge of the Health and Social Care environment
- Experience of leading and managing Mental Health and/or Community Services
- Proven previous experience of working at as a General Manager or Senior Operational manager, or extensive leadership experience in an equally diverse and complex organisation.
- Experience of working across systems with a range of partners, service users and the public
- Experience of successfully managing tendering and contracting processes
- Track record of successfully managing change in complex settings
- Knowledge and experience in Quality Improvement Methodologies and their application in healthcare settings
