We are looking for a senior nurse manager for this essential clinical leadership role within the Surrey Bowel Cancer screening programme following an upcoming retirement based in Guildford at the Screening HQ.

The Screening service is delivered across a geographically wide area currently including: Frimley, Guildford, Redhill, Cobham and Woking and the ability to travel between sites is essential.

You will be a dynamic and enthusiastic nurse leader who would like to join a well established Screening team which is continually growing. Your nursing expertise combined with operational experience and team leading skills are essential to this position. You must also have a keen interest in on going service development and health promotion and experience in this area will be advantageous.

You could be a Specialist Screening Practitioner or a senior nurse preferably with experience in bowel cancer screening , colorectal surgery or oncology and looking for a new challenge. A positive outlook is important and you will need to enjoy setting up new aspects of the service as well as supporting junior colleagues. You will be able to demonstrate a range of leadership experience, strong teaching and mentoring skills and a proven track record of participation in clinical governance settings to ensure QA standards remain high within the Centre.

Excellent IT skills are essential as the patient pathway is completely electronic and the service is driven by a dedicated national IT system. The position also includes the ability to continue a range of clinical sessions per week in order to retain your clinical expertise, depending on your background. Full training is provided including the mandatory Level 6/7 course at Liverpool John Moores University.
