A high profile NHS organisation is seeking to appoint an Interim Performance Manager – Mental Health Services for a 3 month period in the first instance.

This is a key role with the organization and experience in a senior operational management/performance role within the NHS is essential preferably within Mental Health.

This role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8b/Band 8c.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the early identification of changes to performance that may negatively impact achievement of the national waiting times standards, RTT or departmental performance;
  • Work closely with operational and performance teams to ensure achievement of targets and to ensure high standards of service is provided;
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining performance against key mental health/ RTT targets and identify and address barriers to achieving waiting times standards;
  • Write and implement Trust wide policies and procedures to reduce waiting times;
  • Ensure analysis takes place of identified breaches of mental health waiting times targets and lessons learned are integrated into policies and processes.
A Successful candidate will have:
  • Educated to Masters or equivalent relevant experience at senior level in a complex organisation;
  • Able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the national mental health agenda;
  • Experience of writing policies, procedures and guidelines;
  • History of implementation and accountability for policies and procedures over large areas of responsibility;
  • Track record of writing complex business, local delivery and strategic plans;
  • Evidence of leadership and accountability for performance management.
