Job Details
Main Responsibilities:
- Regularly liaise with the divisional staff to ensure identification and management of patient-related risks through effective risk assessment, detailed action planning and monitoring and reviewing of action implementation;
- Manage a process to review all patient safety incident reports and patient feedback relevant to the division;
- Initiate appropriate action to understand and manage the risks identified, ensuring that effective and sustained improvements are implemented;
- Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of serious incidents within a healthcare setting and ensure timely and comprehensive investigations of serious incidents;
- Knowledge and experience using Datix and RCA, data analysis, report writing, papers and presentations;
- Apply Root Cause Analysis practices and processes, conducting an end to end serious incident investigation process;
- Maintain a confidential approach to all issues, handling them with appropriate sensitivity and
- Professionalism.
- Must have worked within the NHS and patient safety;
- Experience of dealing with sensitive and confidential information;
- Clear communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, able to manage and support a team;
- Work under pressure in a busy working open plan environment and be able to multi-task;
- Prioritise workload and manage time effectively, in order to meet tight deadlines;
- Ability to maintain effective relationships and develop networks to ensure effective Patient Safety;
- Knowledge of incident reporting systems and clinical risk.
