Come and join our new Senior Leadership Teams

Lancashire and South Cumbria is the major health and wellbeing provider for a population of 1.7 million people across Lancashire and South Cumbria.  A provider of mental health and learning disability services and physical health services in the community. We are on a journey of improvement, have a new Chief Executive and a completely new Executive Team and have invested significantly in mental health services in the last year.

We have spent the last year listening to our staff, service users and carers and partners about how we need to change our services for the future.  Our new organisational structure will align with our systems ICPs enabling great partnership working and local service delivery.  Each of our five new networks will be led by a triumvirate of an Operations Director, Nurse Director and Medical Director who will work together to provide senior strategic, visible, clinical and professional leadership across the network and externally with local partners.

We have a real and exciting opportunity to improve population health, address health inequalities and provide high quality services in partnership with our communities designed to transform the delivery of our clinical operational services.  We aim to ensure that every person using our services receives high quality care no matter where they access services.  It supports our commitment to embedding cultural change through a style of leadership that is aligned to our values ‘we are kind, respectful, always learning and a team’.  We are seeking compassionate leaders who are champions of diversity and inclusion, put service users and carers at the centre of decision making and actively work in partnership.

As a Locality Network Medical Director with a job plan including 6 management PAs, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective clinical interventions are delivered consistently across the networks, providing both professional leadership and an effective education environment for the medical workforce.  Promoting a culture of openness and inclusion you will ensure medical staff have the knowledge, capability, systems, and support to embed lessons learned for the continual improvement of care for service users. You will also work in partnership with NHS, Local Authority, Voluntary and Private Sector organisations.

An experienced and credible clinical leader, you will bring a proven track record of leading complex service change in politically sensitive and complex environments.  Working jointly with the Director of Operations and Director of Nursing and Quality within your Network you will lead and manage services at locality level and will be jointly responsible and accountable for the delivery of quality services around the core dimensions of safety, effectiveness and service user experience, collaboration with external partners and stakeholders and the development of strategic plans in line with overall Trust strategy. These are exceptional broad opportunities for aspiring Medical Directors to make their mark in a values-led organisation at the start of an exciting and progressive journey.
