A large NHS organisation are looking for an experienced Commissioning professional who holds expertise within Primary Care Commissioning arrangements in line with current NHS plans related to ICP/ICS. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on primary care commissioning and other areas as defined in the work plan of commissioning activity as well as complex, time limited programmes;
  • Dedicated to delivering the commissioning priorities of the CCG and Integrated Care Partnership (ICP);
  • These priorities may be identified locally, from within the CCGs or be part of a Strategic plan that requires local implementation on behalf the Integrated Care System (ICS) Strategy;
  • Will work with CCG Clinical Directors, Health and Social Care providers and be responsible for supporting the delivery and development of strategic objectives of a range of commissioning portfolios in line with local “out of hospital” cell to improve the health and wellbeing of communities as described within the NHS Long Term Plan;
  • Responsible for ensuring value for money and greater efficiency in the use of budgets, relating to the commissioner’s portfolios, including responsibility for achieving QIPP and RightCare savings initiatives;
  • Provide advice & recommendations and contribute to writing of strategic reports and briefings for Directors and Senior Managers on a regular basis;
  • Required to develop and build high trust relationships leading to collaborative commissioning to support the delivery of strategic plans across the ICP and ICS, building partnerships that include NHS England & NHS Improvements, Acute Trusts, Primary Care, Local Authorities, Regulated Care Sector and Clinical Commissioning Groups within the location;
  • Supporting the management and negotiation of budgets within their contracting portfolio, code & checking of invoices whilst responsible for monitoring the performance of data analysis relating to the spend and/or key performance outcome indicators;
  • Expected to support the development of colleagues by sharing in depth knowledge relating to their responsibilities and areas of work.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Extensive understanding of Commissioning pathways having worked consistently for CCGs, CSU in projects and roles related to Primary Care;
  • Flexibility to work remotely, at least for the first 3 months with a potential move back toward the office based environment later within the contract.
