A large healthcare organisation is looking to appoint an exciting new opportunity for a Clinical Governance & Quality Manager on a FTC for 6 months.

Efficently support the delivery of the quality governance and compliance for external providers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the inspection and governance process and support the performance management;
  • Performance manage and facilitate the implementation of continuous quality improvement across services provided and to implement service performance monitoring systems and processes to ensure that effective arrangements are in place to monitor the quality of all service provision.
  • Lead the oversight of the quality, producing report, identification of themes to escalate and supporting day to day management;
  • Develop effective working relationships with healthcare regulators e.g. Care Quality Commission (CQC) and external providers;
  • Continually review all standards set by external agencies e.g. Care Quality Commission (CQC), Connecting for Health, etc for implementation within the organisation, ensuring the organisation is up to date with knowledge regarding current requirements and has processes in place to support achievement of such;
  • Manage the compliance process for all external and internal healthcare standards;
  • Liaise with operational and specialist leads to ensure the development of appropriate robust evidence to achieve compliance with external standards and maintain compliance thereafter;
  • Promote a proactive approach to the delivery of lessons learned because of an event/incident;
  • Ensure that risks identified from external regulatory and audit reviews and are assessed and used to inform compliance with regulation outcomes and are accurately risk assessed and recorded on the appropriate risk register.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Educated to master’s level or equivalent experience with a minimum 5 years’ experience as a manager in related area/organisation;
  • Experience of implementing effective performance management systems;
  • Experience of dealing with complex and sensitive issues and team management and development;
  • Knowledge of the challenges and development of the wider NHS;
  • Expert knowledge of contractual provider management and assurance;
  • Expert knowledge of CQC;
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and report writing skills;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise work within an environment with conflicting demands and pressures.
