Are you an ambitious, aspiring Midwifery leader seeking a leading role at one of the country’s best units? If so this may be the job for you. We are looking for a new Director of Midwifery to lead and direct a team of over 350 midwives and other clinical staff. You should be a role model for the midwifery profession, with a clear and credible track record of delivering continuous high quality care. We want a clinical champion, who demands respect from their clinical presence, and is focused on quality and outcomes for our patients. You should embody our Trust values, and retain a commitment to collective leadership across the services we provide.

The post holder will be given the opportunity to lead as part of the Directorate Management Team, as well as representing the organisation both locally and nationally through maternity networks including the Local Maternity System. We are a leading Maternity provider in the UK, situated opposite the Houses of Parliament. We deliver 6,500 NHS births a year, with our Westminster Private Maternity suite also located on site. We are proud to be both a local provider to patients in Lambeth and Southwark, as well as a leading regional and national provider of specialist care across a number of areas including Fetal and Maternal Medicine.

We have ambitious plans to develop and enhance our range of services, ensuring we remain a leading provider for years to come. We are integrated with our colleagues at Kings College London, with a significant academic programme helping to drive forward the quality of care both locally and nationally.

Evelina London Women’s & Children’s Healthcare brings together the Trust’s services for children and women, including our maternity services which are rated as “Good” by the CQC. With an annual turnover of more than £310 million and 3,200 staff we are growing rapidly.

Applicants from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply for this role as part of our efforts to;

  • Develop our teams
  • Promote a culture of inclusion
  • Strive for excellence in all that we do

If you believe you have the experience, skills and aptitude to lead our midwifery service we would love to hear from you.
