We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to work in the People division of a NHS Trust. Acting as an ambassador you will be supporting the delivery of the People Strategy, whilst also providing your professional expertise of HR and OD.

Our client, a large NHS organisation in the East Midlands, are recruiting for an interim Senior HR Advisor. You will provide a comprehensive, professional and business-focused advisory HR service, coaching and educating leaders across a range of HR services. This role is critical in using the expertise of the organisation to build the capability of their managers.

Main responsibilities of the role:
  • Support the service areas in developing the culture and improving service quality and patient experience;
  • Providing professional advice and support in the areas of resourcing, succession planning and talent management;
  • Provide HR advice and support on change management processes needed to support these areas through transformation;
  • Ensure that managers are aware of Trust policies and procedures effectively, treating employees fairly, in line with good practice and legislative requirements whilst meeting business needs;
  • Deliver a HR service to customers which is respected for its professionalism, and builds people management capability within service areas to consistently deliver effective and efficient business performance;
  • Championing good people management practices and support cultural and behavioural change to develop empowered leaders;
  • Support on the implementation of the People strategy and NHS People Plan within the service areas, including role re-design, skill mix reviews, vacancy management, redeployment and redundancy within budget requirements;
  • Undertake and lead on specific projects that supports the People strategy and People Plan Trust-wide;
  • Working with customers in partnership with the OD and L&D teams to assess training and development needs as well as designing and delivering appropriate solutions to meet these. This may range from one-to-one coaching to facilitation of groups of people, small workshops and presentations.

A successful candidate will have:
  • CIPD qualification
  • Experience of working in a very large, complex organisation in a highly unionised environment.
  • Experience of effective partnership working including leading on complex employee relations issues.
