The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is the main provider of acute hospital services for around half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales.  We are a values-led organisation of almost 6,000 colleagues with a vision as a Trust that strives to provide high quality, safe care for our patients in an environment which our staff are proud to work in.

We are an organisation in Special Measures, working hard to improve our quality of care for our patients and Families. Responding to findings of an extensive long running review of our Maternity Services.  Whilst we face challenges, we are addressing these proactively through rapid improvement plans and significant investment including support through an Improvement Alliance with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) and the securing of £312 million for the transformation of our two hospitals through the NHS Future Fit programme.

Following the exciting appointment of our new Chief Executive, Louise Barnett earlier this year, we are seeking an established Executive Director of Finance to join our Board and work collaboratively with our populations, our commissioners, regulators and system partners.  Providing strong corporate and strategic leadership; our new Director will drive our culture of innovation and productivity. This appointment is critical to delivery of our improvement plans; ensuring we implement robust financial management systems and processes that promote accountability and are aligned to our clinical priorities.

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director of Finance who will bring visible leadership and energy, belief to the Trust and our health and care system as we progress our transformation journey.  A resilient leader with exceptional communication skills and strong political acumen, you will bring a proven track record of financial performance improvement and of engaging and empowering service leads in their accountability for budget control.  You will thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment working with a committed Board to rebuild pride in our services with a commitment to quality outcomes and experience for all our staff, patients, and partners.
