North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is a large and busy organisation, with 6,700 staff serving a population of 800,000 across three hospitals in Peterborough, Huntingdon and Stamford and supporting community clinics in Doddington, Ely and Wisbech. Continuously striving to provide the right care at the right time, every time, for the people we serve, we are a key partner in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough STP and work closely with the Lincolnshire STP.

Our dedicated teams have worked tirelessly to support our patients and one another through the pandemic, and the changes that have subsequently been required to deliver significant transformation in our services and relationships. Going forward we share a passion and commitment to building on our learning, reimagining the future, and together developing an outstanding organisation from a strong and resilient platform.

We are seeking a resilient, dynamic, and visible Chief Operating Officer (COO). Our COO is critical to ensuring consistent quality of care and is a champion for service users and carers. Joining our values-based and progressive organisation at a senior level, our COO will combine their broad operational knowledge with strategic planning, working with our Board, our staff, stakeholders, and communities to help establish and embed our vision, our values, and our culture. This is a key leadership position with a broad and demanding portfolio including leading the estates and facilities function.

Leading our dedicated teams, you will support the creation of an inclusive environment that promotes innovation and a continued focus on excellent patient care. You will provide strong operational grip and motivational leadership to an experienced senior team.

As an experienced operations leader working at, or close to Board level, you will bring credibility and impact to this broad and influential role. Comfortable in building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders within the organisation, our health system and our communities, your passion for quality, safety and efficiency will match that of our dedicated and innovative workforce.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced COO to step into their next role with a broader remit, in an ambitious organisation.  This role may also be suitable for a Deputy COO from a larger organisation looking for their first executive board appointment.
