A high profile NHS organisation is seeking to appoint an Interim Programme Lead for a 6 month period in the first instance. 

This is a key post within the organization and will lead the New Care Models Programme for the organization working system wide. This role will start ASAP and be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8d.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the organisation’s approach to New Care Models by delivering related projects ensuring successful outcomes are achieved for the organisation in support of any/all application to NHS England/Improvement for specialised services.
  • Provide project management methodology and leadership to the New Care Models initiative to ensure delivery and positive outcomes.
  • Support the Executive lead in the development and leadership of New Care Models within the Trust and deputise when necessary and appropriate in internal and external meetings to represent the Trust.
  • Lead and deliver on the governance aspects relating to New Care Models and ensure the Board, Executive Committee and associated subcommittee of the Board are cognisant and aware of the implications for the organisation and are informed and agree actions for delivery and/or mitigation.
  • Oversee and assist the relevant stakeholders in the design and delivery of the financial and commercial aspects of New Care Models.
  • Lead on the delivery of assessing and refining the clinical models and needs-analysis, and articulating the commissioning response.
  • Developing key relationships across the geography, and at a regional and national level, with relevant stakeholder/partner organisations.
  • Assist in the development of improvement programmes aimed at address quality, performance and service issues in order to support ongoing transformation and improvement.
  • Highlight potential risks and challenges within the New Care Models initiative and alert the organisation’s Executive along with mitigating actions
 A Successful candidate will be/have:
  • Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.   
  • Specialist knowledge in Project Management
  • A sound understanding of the background to and aims of national healthcare policy, including New Care Models, NHS-Led Provider Collaboratives, Accountable Care Systems, healthcare provision, and healthcare commissioning
  • A sound knowledge of the relationship between primary legislation and the aspirations of national healthcare policy with regards to New Care Models
  • Evidence of extensive successful experience of project management
  • Evidence of advanced report writing skills, service planning, needs analysis, and presentation skills
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans within a complex environment, to enable the attainment of the organisation’s objectives
  • Demonstrate experience of autonomous leadership of transformational change, at-pace, and at a significant level.
  • Significant experience in working in senior management role within healthcare
  • Experience working within a senior position in a New Care Model or system wide position
