Director of Corporate Governance and Trust Secretary

Salary £105,000

Kingston Hospital FT is a CQC rated outstanding Trust and a leading healthcare organisation in London and nationally. Its performance in areas such as Cancer, Staff Engagement and other key indicators is in the top ten of NHS organisations and something of which we are justifiably proud. Our aim is not just to sustain this but to build on it to be truly excellent in all we do.

Our commitment to strong and transparent governance is a cornerstone of this strong performance. Whilst Covid-19 has presented many challenges, our hospital team has remained resolute in our commitment and desire to provide safe and quality care to the people in South West London.

We are now looking for a Director of Corporate Governance to join us who is driven, innovative, responsive and can provide outstanding leadership and direction to the Governance team at Kingston Hospital and work in an integrated way with our partners. We were rated Outstanding by the CQC in 2018 for Well Led and we seek a first class individual to maintain that very high standard of governance.

Applicants will require exceptional leadership qualities, a commercial acumen, strong relationship management skills, and a strong business understanding and credibility. You will be passionate about improvement and influencing change; a natural leader who will facilitate and support collaborative working both internally and externally to the Trust,  ensuring the delivery of high quality patient care.

Working closely with the Trust Board, the Executive Team and the Council of Governors, you will lead the development, implementation and maintenance of Trust wide systems and processes that place patient quality at the core of Trust practice and business. You will also ensure that the Trust has appropriate policies and systems to deliver sound corporate governance to enable it to comply with its obligations, and to manage risk effectively.

Working as part of the Executive Management Team, you will be capable of leading and supporting the delivery of major policy implementation and service developments, enabling strategies, policies and business plans to deliver the objectives of the trust. Key to this will be supporting the Trust Board in meeting its obligations to ensure ongoing compliance with the legislative and regulatory framework.

You will support the Chief Executive in fulfilling their Accountable Officer responsibilities with respect to good governance and in maintaining the highest standards of prudence, propriety and regularity, and will also act as Trust Secretary.

If you have any queries about any aspect of the appointment process, need additional information or wish to have an informal and confidential discussion, with the Chief Executive, Jo Farrar, please contact Claire Santelli, PA to the Chief Executive and Chairman on 020 8546 7711 ext. 2814

Closing Date for applications: 27 November 2020

Interview Date: 11th December 2020
