A large healthcare organisation is looking to appoint an exciting new opportunity for a clinical Governance Manager on an interim basis for 3 - 6 months.

Responsible for promoting and facilitating the development of effective governance, risk and assurance across the division.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the divisional team, providing advice and contributing to solutions in relation to patient safety and clinical quality agenda;
  • In conjunction with other members of the quality and risk team manage a range of trust wide functions related to the quality of clinical care, with particular emphasis on patient safety;
  • Provide advice on patient safety, clinical audit, risk assessment and management, ensuring integration of divisional clinical quality objectives with corporate objectives;
  • Support the divisional management team in monitoring progress against risk management and clinical audit work programmes;
  • Ensure that lessons are learnt across the clinical governance agenda, using reactive and proactive systems and supporting the division to ensure that learning is translated into practice improvements/examples of good practice by divisional teams;
  • Collate and analyse qualitative and quantitative information to facilitate clinician reflection on clinical practice and service, supporting implementation of good practice and quality improvements for patients;
  • Ensure that data, processes and monitoring/audit of outcomes are maintained, so that their retrieval and availability can inform future practice and act as an audit trail for quality improvement;
  • Monitor risk management within the division;
  • Access integrated governance systems, collate and analyse data, prepare and present reports on clinical governance issues to the relevant forum when required, including clinical audit, risk management and analysis of incident trend data/incident investigation reports;
  • Support the divisions to ensure that NICE guidance, National Audits and National Confidential Enquiries are monitored and implemented;
  • Contribute to the divisional response in relation to CQC standards;
  • Manage and maintain effective working relationships with staff responsible for clinical governance, risk and assurance across the organisation.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Experience of risk management database systems (Datix);
  • Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Ability to use data and information effectively to set and monitor performance;
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills;
  • Ability to analyse complex situations and problem solve.
