Clinical Director

We have an exciting new opportunity for  a Clinical Director to join our team at HUC

As Clinical Director you will contribute to the strategic leadership of the organisation, working to further develop our urgent & primary health care service provision with our stakeholders.  

Who are we?

HUC is a Social Enterprise providing accessible and high quality Integrated Urgent Care services to nearly 3 million patients across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Bedfordshire and part of Essex. When service users need the right medical advice, signposting or treatment, HUC provides the NHS 111 and Out of Hours GP service. We have grown rapidly in recent years and continue to mobilise new services.

• As Clinical Director will work with the CEO and the Board to formulate and regularly review HUC’s clinical leadership, quality and governance of workforce and the services ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered, putting the patient at the start and heart of our care.  You will achieve this through skilful management of a committed clinical team and the effective communication of shared values to all levels of the organisation; and through embedding a culture of outstanding quality, collaboration and engagement with system partners.

​We are seeking proven experience of overseeing medical services role with ideally working within the healthcare / NHS environment including occupying a senior leadership role and proven experience of innovatively developing clinical services and the introduction of new services, especially as integrated components or in partnership.  Full professional registration is essential whether with General Medical Council (GMC) or Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and or HCPC. 

You will need to commit to 3 Days / 6 Sessions per week. Base remuneration is c£100,000 - £125,000 pa plus excellent benefits including membership of NHS pension scheme, bonus scheme and 38 days holiday pa (pro rata).
