The Department of Health & Social Care is seeking a Director of Strategy and Commissioning who will be a key member of the Senior Management Team, responsible for ensuring that the health and social care strategy for the Isle of Man and the commissioning of services Manx Care are fit for purpose and sustainable for the future.

Collectively with the other members of the DHSC Executive Leadership team you will be responsible for assurance of the entire Manx Care budget of c. £240m. You will also provide the leadership and line management to a number of senior officers.

The Strategy and Commissioning function will be responsible for developing the Mandate which will identify all health and care services to be delivered by Manx Care for the people of the Isle of Man. This is a new function of the DHSC and will require a Director with a successful track record of managing multi-million pound contracts and must have had significant experience in a strategic commissioning role.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the strategy and strategic commissioning function for the DHSC and to ensure that services to be specified by the DHSC and delivered by Manx Care will be of high-quality, meet local needs, be person-centred and outcome-based, be future-proofed and provide value for money for the people of the Isle of Man.
