Our client a high profile NHS organisation is seeking to appoint an Interim Director of Operations for Planned Care. This role will be at interim contractor rates under the CCS NMNC Framework at Band 9.
This role will start ASAP and will be for 3 months in the first instance.

Main responsibilities:
  • Leadership across Planned Care for the organisation;
  • Provide an operational and strategic management lead for all staff groups within the Group;
  • Take a lead role in delivering services within a robust financial management model, including the delivery of both local and Trust-wide cost improvement initiatives;
  • Ensure that all relevant quality and performance standards are consistently achieved;
  • Ensure the delivery of contracted activity – managing service level agreements and contracts both internal and external to the Trust;
  • Take the lead role in the Directorate’s Business Planning process and Business Continuity process;
  • Ensure the provision and strategic development of a modern, patient-focused service;
  • Provide a visible senior management presence to all services;
  • Deputise for the Chief Operating Officer, as required;
  • Support and take part in the Silver Command On Call Rota.
Key skills and experience:
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent experience;
  • Understanding of the Health and Social care management environment and roles and responsibilities within it;
  • Ability to develop strategy for the Health Economy;
  • Ability to assimilate & co-ordinate various agendas prioritising appropriately;
  • Performance management methodology;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the NHS as a whole, ability to rapidly assimilate knowledge of whole organisation and continually develop new skills;
  • Evidence of knowledge of successful change management processe;
  • Project management skills across a range of different disciplines and agencies.
