We’ve all experienced the impact in one way or another of Covid-19, in particular the pressure its had on our health services. If you work in programme management, this is your chance to play a pivotal role by leading the roll out of an entirely new, national, NHS Data and Analytics Platform. Working with the 3rd party supplier you’ll help deliver unprecedented new capability to better predict future national, regional and local demands on the service through the provision of real-time, joined-up data and analytics, at phenomenal scale and pace. Our expertise in this field, has been recognised by our engagement with NHS England and Improvement, and a request to lead the delivery and implementation of a mission critical programme of change, namely an entirely new, national, NHS Data and Analytics Platform. This Platform will transform the big-data capability of the NHS to both respond to current challenges presented for example, by the Covid-19 pandemic, and will deliver unprecedented new capability to better predict future national, regional and local demands on the service, through the provision of real-time, joined-up data and analytics, at phenomenal scale and pace.

About the role  

Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence and Provider Management, the Programme Director will lead the roll out and integration of the NHS Data and Analytics Platform across the country, working in collaboration with a wide and diverse range of delivery partners. The post holder will be responsible for the development and deployment of people, processes and technology to establish a hub and spoke delivery model, utilising industry standard methodologies. The Programme Director will develop the policies, processes and procedures to underpin the central hub and, working to this blueprint, will be responsible for the co-design of the form and function of the customer facing analytical spokes. An effective Programme Delivery Board will be key to success, with the post holder having the opportunity to shape it’s composition and scope to ensure exemplary collaborative working, sharing of best practice and lessons learned in delivery.

About you

To succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have exemplary digital, data and technology large scale programme delivery expertise and the leadership and political astuteness required, to deliver a programme of this complexity and profile. This will have been gained in a public sector or commercial, data rich organisation of scale, where you will be able to evidence having driven delivery of a step change in organisation capability through the exploitation of innovative data and analytics and/or BI platform solutions. You will be a dynamic and accomplished technical/programme professional, with  a strong commercial acumen, together with the ability to work in partnership with commercial providers whilst driving value for money outcomes. You will be an adept influencer, persuader, communicator and advocate for change, able to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels, internal and external to your organisation and to translate complex technology solutions into simple to understand business benefits.
