There has never been a better time to join this NHS Trust in the North West. With investment to improve their patient and retail food services approved, they need an experienced Catering Manager to lead their team through this change on an interim basis whilst they recruit permanently.

As a large NHS Hospital across multiple sites, they aim to provide appealing retail and nourishing and therapeutic diets for patients and staff, in excess of 1million meals per annum.

This role will be responsible for the management, support and development of the Catering service, including Food Hygiene and the management of a team of approximately 110+. You will liaise extensively with suppliers to source food services to all catering outlets including their commercial and retail and source, plan and negotiate with all supplier stakeholders and ensure that a safe, exciting and varied food service functions to meet the needs of a busy hospital.

Essential experience includes management of a similar sized catering operation in either the public sector or a large outsourced provider. NHS experience would be welcome, alternatively an ability to demonstrate an understanding of strict hygiene around therapeutic foods is necessary. Relevant certifications from the Institute of environmental Health Officers and the NEBOSH Health and safety General Certificate are required.

We're looking for an engaging interim who can change behaviours and support a move towards a more dynamic, flexible and engaged workforce across their food services provision.

Inside IR35, this Band 8A interim role will involve being on-site 37.5 hours per week, with on-call provision over some weekends an option for the interim. If you were to secure the permanent position on-call would become mandatory.
