Job Details
The postholder will play a critical role in leading corporate communications and engagement across the organisation. As this is a key role, the successful candidate will have significant proven experience at a senior level in a communications or public relations function within the NHS.
The role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8b/8c. ASAP start.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide effective strategic leadership to the Communications Team to meet the overall strategic objectives;
- Advise key stakeholders on matters regarding engagement, and strategic and tactical communications;
- Develop and implement a communications strategy that will enhance the reputation of the organisation both internally and externally;
- Identify new and emerging issues and risks at an early stage, and develop appropriate handling strategies;
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with local, regional and
- national media to enhance the image and position of the organisation.
- An education to degree level plus training and/or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience;
- Experience of staff management;
- Expert knowledge of communications, engagement and public relations;
- Significant proven experience at a senior level in a communications or public relations function within an NHS organisation.
