Job Details

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for experienced Operational Directors to lead dynamic teams and sites in the delivery of a safe, personal and effective service for the mass delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations. This assignment will cover a period of 3 months in the first instance.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of leading operational services and multidisciplinary teams in regional and national healthcare initiatives.

The role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8d.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Responsible for the overall site operational management and patient flow across vaccination centres, to ensure all sites deliver on objectives;
  • Ensure a consistently resilient, high quality process of delivering COVID-19 vaccinations;
  • Lead on a set of agreed metrics including financial objectives, quality and patient satisfaction, in addition to leading on serious and major incidents;
  • Establish a highly motivated team of clinical staff and leaders;
  • Foster an environment in which the effective delivery of care is appropriately managed and providing ongoing support to the site staff and the patients;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders and service providers to ensure seamless programme delivery and to develop and redesign services;
  • Create and embed internal capacity and escalation management processes.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Masters degree qualification or equivalent level of experience at a senior level;
  • Credible experience of operational management within the NHS;
  • Track record of leading on regional and national initiatives;
  • Experience of managing patient flow across a healthcare footprint.
