An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Operations Manager, for up to 3 months in the first instance.

The successful candidate will be experienced in managing the discharge process in acute/community settings.

The role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 7.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Co-ordinate integrated acute/community teams and provide strong leadership to staff within each organisation;
  • Ensure processes are in place to safely avert unnecessary hospital admissions;
  • Develop and maintain pathways that will enable timely assessment of patient needs for safe discharge;
  • Co-ordinate access to services in the community for people with complex needs;
  • Take lead responsibility for specified operational tasks and projects;
  • Develop effective working relationships between multi-disciplinary teams by engaging the commitment of a wide range of clinicians, professionals and managers from Health, Social Care and partner organisations from independent and voluntary sectors.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Degree or working towards / post graduate management or business qualification;
  • Expert knowledge of strategic and operational management;
  • Significant proven experience at a senior level in managing the discharge process;
  • Experience of service and policy development, designed to improve patient care pathways.
