An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for a large healthcare organisation a Health & Safety Manager on an interim basis for a minimum of 3 months.
The post will be based in the South West working on a band 8a, the hourly rate will be: £34.65.
Provide leadership and expert guidance across the organisation, ensuring advice is delivered efficiently to fit for purpose and enhance patient care.

Provide leadership and expert guidance across the organisation, ensuring advice is delivered efficiently to fit for purpose and enhance patient care.
Main Responsibilities:
- Developing and implement a strategy and policy framework that supports the organisation in meeting its legal and mandatory obligations
- Advise and guide all areas for risk assessments, work with the risk management department and other groups who monitor compliance, policies and procedures;
- Compile and regularly review all incidents and risks appertaining to the health & safety function and provide direction and guidance to the health & safety committee
- Manage and maintain the COSHH coordinator and the COSHH system;
- Monitor and co-ordinate all associated works ensuring compliance with relevant current legislation, NHS guidance, health and safety, COSHH, Food Hygiene standards and codes of practice;
- Provide Health and Safety input into all new projects.
- Experience of working in an acute, community or mental health NHS Trust., with knowledge of NHS standard documents such as HTM’s/HBN’s;
- Minimum of working 5 years in a health & safety related environment whereby H&S is their prime role;
- IOSH Diploma, Chartered or Graduate level and membership of a related national body;
- Knowledge of risk management or other national safety institutions;
- Experience of using Datix or similar Database for reporting and analysis with a good understanding of Root Cause Analysis and other investigative techniques;
- Working knowledge of current UK and European Health & Safety Legislation.
