A new opportunity has arisen within a London NHS Trust for an experienced Interim Information Governance Manager to join their team on a temporary basis.
Main role responsibilities
Main role responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on all aspects of IG;
- Manage the completion of the DSP Toolkit for the Trust, coordinating with requirement leads to ensure that they are aware of their duties and timescales and in ensuring supporting evidence is available for audit review in a well-structured and orderly manner;
- Provide specialist knowledge and expertise on IG issues, demonstrating a strong theoretical understanding of IG, information and system principles, including complex IG legislation, national and local policy and guidance, including the Data Protection Act 2018, General Data;
- Protection Regulation, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the NHS Code of Practice on Confidentiality;
- Develop and deliver on business plans to improve on IG and Data Quality best practice including putting together plans to improve of underperforming areas of the DSP Toolkit;
- Provide advice and support to the Data Protection Officer, Senior Information Risk Owner and Caldicott Guardian on all IG matters;
- Manage and enhance the Information Asset and Information Transfer process, working with Information Asset Owners and Administrators to ensure the register is up to date, and report to the SIRO and Senior Management Team.
- Extensive knowledge of NHS/healthcare IG, Information Risk, Confidentiality and Caldicott Principles;
- Experience with the DSP Toolkit;
- Experience of advising on IG incidents and complaints including assessing severity and planning; organisation wide improvements.
