Job Details
The postholder will play a critical role in developing and implementing communications and engagement across the organisation. Candidates must have significant experience in a communications function within the NHS.
The role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 6. ASAP start.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement a communications strategy that will enhance the reputation of the organisation both internally and externally;
- Lead on the communications for service projects and campaigns, ensuring they are strategically aligned, delivered using recognised communications methodologies and to a high standard;
- Ensure all campaigns are managed in line with internal processes and best practice, incorporating evaluation and using this learning to measure success and drive improvements;
- Social media management and website development;
- Liaise with staff to identify stories to pitch to the media, draft press releases, briefings, statements and other messages for media and stakeholders, as part of a rolling programme of proactive media coverage.
- An education to degree level or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience;
- Demonstrable experience of devising, implementing and managing successful communications and engagement programmes, involving a broad range of stakeholders;
- Significant proven experience of managing proactive and reactive media relations.
