Job Details

A large Healthcare organisation is looking to appoint an Associate Director of Nursing on an interim basis, up to 3 months in the South East Coast.

To lead, inspire and develop the nursing workforce within the Divisions to deliver high quality, patient centred nursing care that meets the needs of the patient. 

Main Responsibilities:
  • Shared accountability for the performance and strategic development of the Division;
  • Delivery of the agreed performance and financial objectives are implemented through nursing;
  • Ensure clinical services also meet their broader quality standards;
  • Supporting the divisional management teams including Heads of Nursing, Matrons to ensure the standards of nursing care are safe and effective;
  • Provide outstanding nursing leadership to the division and clinical programmes, commanding the respect of the profession;
  • Able to articulate what the vision and contribution to nursing will be to help the Trust deliver its strategic intentions;
  • Manage highly complex, sensitive situations that require a high level of decision making and be able to command the authority and respect of the clinical and managerial workforce;
  • Responsible for the standard of patient care and experience across the Division and ensure fundamental standards of patient care are in place;
  • Act as the professional lead for the Heads of Nursing within the Division, holding the Heads of Nursing / Matrons to account on all aspects of the quality and patient experience agenda;
  • Lead and manage major Trust projects and portfolios of work taking corporate responsibility as required by Senior Management.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Clinical registration;
  • Significant NHS experience including leading and managing staff;
  • Evidence of successfully developing and implementing strategies;
  • Experience developing and reviewing organisational policies and procedures.
