A local authority in the South are looking for an experienced qualified nurse with experience working in public health. This is an interim role, where you will provide advice to the wider public health team in infection control in order to prevent and manage outbreaks in health settings. As a member of the public health team, you will be responsible for developing, planning and implementing infection prevention control processes.
As the Infection Prevention and Control Nurse you will:
·Be a specialist in the first instance infection prevention and control knowledge
·Proactively collaborate with the Public Health, Health Protection Team to ensure effective working relationships and effective prevention and control of infection mechanisms with health care partners, Regulatory Services Partnership and cross Council Directorate.
·Ensure that all stakeholders have clear access to specialist infection prevention and control advice. This includes ensuring the establishment of effective document control systems and Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) for a current and up-to-date Infection Prevention and Control Policies and guidance.
·Use specialist expert skills, knowledge and experience to collate, analyse, interpret and communicate epidemiological and statistical information from a variety of sources, including Government statistics and public consultations.
What you will:
·Be a Qualified Nurse
·Have current and relevant clinical and professional qualification such as NMC, RGN, NMN, RCN, pharmacological, microbiology or other relevant qualification.
·Have practical hands-on experience in a lead position within infection prevention and control
·Have good interpersonal skills and be very articulate
·Proven experience working at this level in a local authority or NHS setting
