An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Board Secretary, for up to 3 months in the first instance.
Candidates must have significant experience of providing corporate governance advice and acting as a senior corporate governance manager, trust secretary or similar within an NHS organisation.
The role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8c.

Candidates must have significant experience of providing corporate governance advice and acting as a senior corporate governance manager, trust secretary or similar within an NHS organisation.
The role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8c.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Act as Secretary to the Board of Directors, ensuring high quality papers, timely circulation of papers, effective management and minuting of Board meetings, and putting in place a clear annual cycle of business for the Board that reflects national reporting requirements and corporate governance best practice;
- Lead the management and supervision of the Trust Secretariat function, managing the smooth running of the full range of secretariat services to the Board and Board Committees;
- Provide adequate administrative support including agenda setting, commissioning papers, collation and distribution of papers, briefing Committee chairs, taking minutes, producing action notes and following up actions;
- Ensure the appropriate treatment of highly sensitive and confidential information at all times.
- Degree level qualification or equivalent level of experience;
- ICSA Company Secretary qualification or working towards;
- Considerable experience of working at Board or senior level within an NHS environment;
- Expertise in corporate governance and board management;
- Excellent understanding of the NHS and NHS policy framework;
- Excellent understanding of relevant legislation;
- Prior experience of managing and developing staff;
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
