Interim Associate Director of Operations – Inpatient Services

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Associate Director of Operations for Inpatient Services, for up to 3 months in the first instance.

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the best use of available resources to provide efficient and effective delivery of all services in line with best practice and quality standards. Candidates must have significant experience of Operational Service Management within Inpatient services.

The role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8c.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Overall operational management of Inpatient services and the provision of strong leadership to staff within each organisation;
• Deliver an improvement in productivity so that a higher volume of activity can be delivered through a fixed capacity of infrastructure and at a lower cost per treatment;
• Ensure that business continuity plans are in place for the services;
• Provision of continuous service improvement against a range of defined quality indicators thus ensuring that clinical services are safe, effective and personal;
• Ensure that services consistently achieve all performance standards including both national and local targets, including access targets.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Masters degree or equivalent;
• Appropriate professional management qualification;
• Expert knowledge of the operation of healthcare services and performance targets;
• Significant experience of Operational Service Management within Inpatient services;
• Substantial experience of successful project management.
