A South East NHS organisation are seeking to appoint an Interim Deputy Director of Workforce Transformation for a period of 6 months.

Main responsibilities of the role:
  • Lead and coordinate the approach to workforce development and transformation across the ICS;
  • Deliver the workforce vision for the future, including: leadership, OD and education; delivery of a single workforce framework, plan and delivery model for the system;
  • Develop strong partnership working relationships and engagement with Staff Organisations across health and social care, to facilitate development and implementation of workforce strategies and changes supported by strong leadership and empowerment at all levels;
  • Bring regional, national and international workforce best practice and identify opportunities for enabling them to implement strategies around best practice;
  • Develop new ways of working through strengthened partnerships with other systems, considering the best ways of joint up working;
  • Lead on the development and delivery of a single cohesive health and social care workforce strategy framework;
  • Develop a consistent and effective approach to education and development across the ICS;
  • Oversee/ prioritise with others the utilisation of benchmarking, modelling and workforce planning information;
  • Lead/ coordinate/ manage the successful delivery of a range of highly complex programmes and initiatives within the workforce workstream;
  • Establish overall performance targets and monitoring for workforce across the system, complementary, not repetitive, to those monitored by other regulators.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Fellow/Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) or equivalent;
  • Proven experience of working at senior level in complex organisations;
  • Experience of designing and delivering complex system wide transformation programmes including workforce elements;
  • Proven Board level leadership and engagement of delivering complex change and strategy development programmes in a politically sensitive and complex environment.
