A large healthcare organisation is looking to appoint an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Director of Quality on an interim basis for up to 3 months.

This is a band 8c post with an hourly rate of: £49.54, inside IR35.

To support the continued development of the quality corporate strategy, policy and decision making within the organisation.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Advise on issues relating to the design, implementation and maintenance of strategies and policies related to, patient experience, clinical audit and clinical governance & Safety;
  • Advise and support the relevant committees which oversee quality governance in the organisation providing analytical reports where required;
  • Work collaboratively with other professional leads in developing a culture which embeds clinical quality and patient safety, and monitors its effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement and compliance;
  • Advise the executive management team on strategic development in relation on all quality issues to produce informed and desired outcomes of patient care service provision ensuring best practice, value for money and legislative compliance;
  • Influence the service delivery and development by providing specialist expertise to support clinical practice and quality agendas, ensuring services provided are progressive and support new models in delivering patient care;
  • Assist the clinical leads in balancing the challenges of providing high quality, safe services, with excellent outcomes and in a way that delivers efficiencies and meets the expectations of patients and the public;
  • Support and contribute to the delivery of CQUINs and Quality contracts across all services but with a focus on emergency and urgent care;
  • To be an effective member of the Quality and Clinical groups supporting the work of the Clinical Directorate and providing assurance to the Quality Governance agenda;
  • Provide detailed analysis and synthesis of highly complex information/data related to quality issues business performance, management and financial implications.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Professional registration with, NMC or HCPC;
  • MSc or equivalent experience in healthcare or leadership;
  • Applied knowledge of infection prevention and control and Care Quality Commission Standards;
  • Experience of developing, supporting and motivating individuals and a team in a similar working environment;
  • Experience of applying strategy and policy in a quality setting;
  • Able to co-ordinate the organisational delivery of CQC regulations;
  • Proven ability to lead the development of quality improvements in a challenging environment that are designed to improve quality, effectiveness and/or accountability.
