Job Details

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Service Manager to lead dynamic teams in the delivery of a safe, personal and effective service for the mass delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations. This assignment will cover a period of 3 months in the first instance.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of leading operational services and multidisciplinary teams in regional and national healthcare initiatives.

The role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8a.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Responsible for the overall operational and administrative management across the site, to ensure the service delivers on objectives and that the necessary resources are available to meet standards of patient care;
  • Ensure structures are in place to provide a consistently resilient, high quality process of delivering COVID-19 vaccinations;
  • Develop local performance indicators and lead on agreed metrics including financial objectives, quality and patient satisfaction, in addition to leading on serious and major incidents;
  • Maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders and service providers to ensure seamless programme delivery and to develop and redesign services;
  • Provision of daily/weekly/monthly reporting on all service performance;
  • Create and embed internal capacity and escalation management processes.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Masters degree qualification or equivalent level of experience at a senior level;
  • Credible experience of operational management within the NHS;
  • Track record of leading on regional and national initiatives;
  • Knowledge of current legislation and developments and agenda within the NHS.
